Influenced by a childhood lulled by walks in the forest and picking mushrooms with my grandfather, it's quite instinctively that Doud dedicated her work to the flora and fauna of the misty regions of Belgium, where she comes from. She tried to find a balance between tenderness and brutality, two paradoxical elements coexisting in nature, mixing life and death via various wild berries, amanita, bones and animals. She likes to realize it in a graphic and sketchy style with details, which reflects her impulsive but meticulous character.
